November 17-30 Public voting window for favorite design components
November 20-21 Finalists notified

Recent research from Education Commission of the States (ECS) and ExcelinEd reveals that many of today’s report cards are difficult to find online and often impossible to understand. The #SchoolInfo challenge is an effort to provide parents with necessary information to make informed decisions about their student’s education, and to inform policymakers with information for reform strategies.

The Objective. Clearly present school-level accountability and parent-friendly student performance and learning opportunities information, while increasing use and accountability of report cards through web and mobile applications.

The team at Getting Smart is managing the competition and submissions will be judged by a panel of experts including educators, parents, designers, and private sector leaders. A winner and runner up will be announced on November 21 in Washington D.C. at ExcelinEd’s Annual Conference. A prize purse of up to $35,000 is up for grabs and additional prizes will be awarded during a public voting period.
